The Dialogue Education Principles Game!
My kids are going back to school this week, and the excitement, especially for my son who is starting Junior Kindergarten, is palpable. So much is new: new shoes, a new backpack, a new teacher, a new after school daycare....Even my daughter who is already a jaded, 3-year veteran of the formal education system is looking forward to seeing her school friends, although she's a bit nervous about riding her own bicycle to school for the first time.
No matter how long I've been out of school (don't ask!), September always feels like the real start of the New Year for me. You can keep your Julian, Gregorian, lunar, Chinese, liturgical, fiscal and astronomical calendars; the academic schedule is really what defines the seasons and rhythms of life for me.
But after a summer of kite-flying, canoe-paddling, hammock-swinging and beer-nursing, September also means that we need to review what we've learned before. And even experience adult educators can benefit from a refresher!
So to celebrate the real New Year, I designed a Back-to-School Dialogue Education Review Game to refresh, reinvigorate and reactivate your knowledge of 12 selected principles of Dialogue Education (pictured below in the photographs), as synthesized by the work of Jane Vella, founder of Global Learning Partners.

Thanks for the fun task.
You're welcome!
You almost had me completely stumped... and I'm not sure if I got them right.
Who said learning tasks are not testing tasks?
Peter
Ah ...that tension between safety and challenge, my friend! But thanks for playing; i'm sure you did fine.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner on September 28!
